1930's Bauhaus Table Lamp

€320.00

This 1930’s Modernist table lamp is made of chromed steel with a lampshade painted in a cream colour. The bulb is positioned vertically, right underneath the large shaped mushroom-like shade that is fixed to the base by a single flat screw on the top and can be adjusted to its side. This minimal but perfectly functional design allows to set up the right light intensity to radiate out, and so it’s the perfect lamp to use for reading or just as a support side light.

This table lamp represents well the Bauhaus approach to furniture design. It has puristic and minimalist form, quality materials, its perfectly functional and could be used in different parts of the house.

The good original vintage condition shows some natural wear to the chromed steel and also to the cream paint. On some parts of the lampshade and on the stand, the paint and chrome are slightly worn at places but this way the piece has acquired a patina which adds unique charm and character instead. The lampshade interior was also painted cream for better light reflection; this surface has some minor patina as well. All the parts are original, including the switch, the bulb fitting, cord and the European plug.
