This bakelite and steel table lamp, type 102 01 nick named "Komisarka", was designed by Ján Šucháň and produced by Elektrosvit Nove Zamky. It is now considered as one of the iconic pieces of 20th century Czech design.

In 1960’s Czechoslovakia, every household owned one or wanted one, but it got its nickname “The Commissar” from the fact that it was actually hugely popular with the police at the time and could be seen in lots of Czech crime movies.

The lampshade can be moved to different angles also to different heights by adjusting the holding pin between the two steel rods. The on/off button is location on the cord.

The lamp is in great vintage condition, with some minor scratches and natural wear and tear on the bakelite parts. There are no chips or cracks and all the lamp parts are original and fully functional.
