1970's Floor Lamp by Josef Hurka for Lidokov

€380.00

This bright red desk lamp was designed in the 1970's by the iconic Czech lightning designer Josef Hurka and was produced by Lidokov Company in former Czechoslovakia.

Josef Hurka is considered by many as the most talented and commercially most successful Czech lighting designer of the second part of the 20th Century. Almost every Czech household had at least one piece designed by him somewhere in their homes.

This lamp has a minimal form and is a striking red colour, but the adjustable cone shaped steel lampshade is the main design feature. The on/off switch is located on a cable separate from the lamp. Despite being produced in 1970's, the lamp design is extremely contemporary.

This piece is in great vintage condition. There are some very small scratches and minimal dents due to normal wear and tear. All parts (including the switch, the bulb fitting, cord and the European plug) are original and fully functional.
