A black painted veneered cube cabinet fixed to chromed steel tubular frame loop on either side, this eye-catching bedside table is a lovely example of functionalism – a simple form yet memorable design typical of this era. There were many variations on this type of cabinetry; every modern household wanted one.

Overall, the timber veneered cabinet that has been refurbished and painted in its original colour, is in good vintage condition. All hardware and fittings are original. The chrome on the tubular frame has been partially damaged due to rusting, but this has been cleaned off and refurbished. The decision was made not to re-chrome the frame as the character would be lost, instead we chose to celebrate the great patina acquired over the years.
