This music cabinet was originally designed by Jindrich Halabala in the 1930s and was produced by renowned UP Brno Furniture factory. Due to its popularity it stayed in production after the WW2 and was made in various types until the 1960s. The elegant proportions of this cabinet with it’s curved shelves, perfect attention to every detail, together with the dazzling pattern of the light and darker coloured walnut veneer in makes this piece sure to delight design enthusiasts.

The cabinet was designed to house a record player and also its records. What makes this piece unique is that while it is purely functional as a storage item, it was designed to fit in a domestic environment as an elegant and beautiful piece of furniture and therefore can be used in various ways and in different rooms.

The cabinet is divided into four sections: the top middle section is an curved drawer, bottom part has got two shelves and the right and left sections have got a space to hold the records.

This cabinet has been completely refurbished using original techniques and materials. Expertly polishing out surface scratches and marks gained over the years, the entire piece was finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve gloss finish while respecting and retaining the character of the item. The fittings and hardware, like the door handles, hinges and the key are all original and overall the cabinet is in great vintage condition
