The shape and design of this table lamp is instantly recognisable as a 60s classic in Czechoslovakia.  It was designed by Stepan Tabery and produced by Osvetlovaci sklo Company, Valasske Mezirici in Czechoslovakia, it is known as Type M 2/4.

This lamp is a bold statement piece. A very high level of craftsmanship was required to make the bulbous shape, which consists of two handblown layers of a glass - a white layer inside and pillar box red on the outside.  There is a rim of orange plastic that forms the base of the lamp and works brilliantly with the bright red.

This piece is truly a combination of a great design and craft. It demonstrates a great skills and tradition of Czech glass/lighting design.

The lamp is in great vintage condition. There is no damage on the glass. The brass base shows some natural wear and tear according to its age. All parts are original and fully functional.
