A lighting engineer Miloslav Prokop designed this rare piece for the NAPAKO Company in 1930s Czechoslovakia. A lovely modernist table lamp made of chromed steel; the bulb is positioned horizontally under the beautifully shaped mushroom like metal shade. The chrome finish was applied to a copper skin, an additional layer sitting between chrome and steel, a sign of quality craftsmanship.

The good original vintage condition shows natural wear to the chromed steel. The chrome is worn and the steel lost its gloss finish, but the piece has acquired a great patina instead. The lampshade interior was painted white for better light reflection; this surface shows some small scratches and marks. All the parts are original, including the switch, the bulb fitting, cord and the European plug.
