Music Cabinet
Music Cabinet
This music cabinet was originally designed by Jindrich Halabala in the 1930s, but due to its popularity stayed in production until 1960s.
The cabinet was designed to house a record player and its records. What makes this piece unique is that while purely functional as a storage item, it was designed to fit in a domestic environment as an elegant and beautiful piece of furniture.
This cabinet has been completely refurbished using original techniques and materials. Expertly polishing out surface scratches and marks, the entire piece was finished by Shellac lacquer, respecting and retaining the character of the item. The fittings and hardware, like the door handles, hinges and the key are all original.
