Set of two refurbished and reupholstered no.514 dining chairs by Radomir Hofman for the TON Company

€0.00

These dining chairs are very similar to the work of Oswald Haerdtl and Antonin Suman, but they were designed by another brilliant furniture designer also working for the TON Company - Radomir Hofman.

Hofman used the same principle for the backrest as the other two, but made his own impression by using a thicker wood and visible screws for the backrest together with a dynamic semicircle for the gap. The dark lacquered wood has a beautiful texture, especially the backrest. The pumpkin orange fabric seat adds even more expression and makes this piece as modern and as bold as the day it was originally designed.

Radomir Hofman is well known for designing the iconic chair no.165 but this model was definitely his most commercially successful and remains very popular to this day.

The chairs are in great vintage condition. All parts have been completely refurbished and the frame strengthened in a recent restoration using original techniques and materials. The surface has been hand finished with Shellac varnish. The original damaged cover has been replaced by a recycled bright orange fabric from the Kirkby Design Company.

The price is for the set of two.
