Sofa bed
Sofa bed
This is a great example of Czechoslovakian design inspired by the Brussels's EXPO of 1958. The Czechoslovakian pavilion was particularly successful and stood out not only for its architectural form but also for the design pieces on display. Both had a huge influence on the Czechoslovakian design and architecture in the 1960s and 1970s.
The item, named Liffa, is a sleek sofa bed upholstered in its original fabric with an amazing geometric pattern. The striking form conceals a simple but clever rolling mechanism that allows this slender piece to transform itself into a solid and comfortable full size double bed.
The fabric has been recently professionally cleaned and it is in very good condition. There are some scratches on the front side of the wooden legs.
