1960's Telephone bench

€0.00

A rare, and these days quite unusual type of furniture; the telephone bench. A unit consisting of a seat, side table and magazine rack, designed for the waiting or making of telephone calls.

It's construction consists of three semi circle gold chrome tubular pieces, with integrated seating in pink velvet and an inset glass shelf. The designer or manufacturer is unknown but it is believed to be produced in West Germany in the late 1960’s. The design of the piece is inspired by pre War modernist furniture and in particular the work of Wolfgang Hoffmann.

The telephone bench is in its original condition with some patina acquired over the years. There is some wear and tear on parts of the steel frame acquired over the years.
