An elegant and highly sculptural Art Deco tabouret or piano stool, believed to have been produced in the 1920s. While the designer remains unknown, the piece beautifully combines classical influences with the refined decorative language of the early 20th century. Its form recalls both the furniture of ancient Greece and the tradition of the court tabouret—a distinguished upholstered stool used in royal courts from the 17th century onwards.

The most striking feature is the remarkable silhouette of its legs, which flow seamlessly upward to form gracefully curved arm supports. This unusual design creates a sense of movement and lightness rarely found in seating of this scale, giving the piece a strong sculptural presence from every angle. The elegant proportions and sweeping lines also evoke furniture associated with the Swedish Karl Johan style, where classical inspiration was interpreted through softer, more organic forms.

Recently restored by our skilled craftsmen, the stool has undergone a complete refurbishment carried out with great care and respect for its original character. Traditional restoration techniques were used throughout, preserving the integrity of the piece while enhancing the natural beauty and grain of the wood.

The original upholstery had deteriorated beyond repair and has therefore been replaced with a high-quality new fabric. Chosen for its understated elegance, the new upholstery complements the warm tones of the wood and suits the piece's refined Art Deco character.

The stool remains in excellent vintage condition, displaying only minor signs of age and patina consistent with nearly a century of careful use.
