ON HOLD! 1960's Cabinet

€680.00

This cabinet was produced in Czechoslovakia in the 1960’s. Originally it was designed as a music cabinet to house a record player within the top right section of the piece, with records stored in the bottom left cupboard and magazines etc in the bottom right part of the cupboard.

What makes this piece unique is that while it is purely functional as a storage item for records and playing music, it was designed to fit in a domestic environment as an elegant and beautiful piece of furniture. The elegant proportions with it’s curved shelves, together with the dazzling pattern of the walnut veneer on the every surface of the piece makes this cabinet a stand up piece to any modern or tradition interior.

This cabinet has been completely refurbished using original techniques and materials. Expertly polishing out surface scratches and marks, the entire piece was finished by Nitro lacquer, respecting and retaining the character of the item. All parts are original, only the inside wooden plate in the top right draw which used to hold the record player was replaced for practical reasons by an identical one but without a hole in the middle.
