This elegant pair of Art Deco bedside tables is a beautiful example of early 20th-century craftsmanship, most likely produced in the 1930s. The quality of construction, refined detailing, and carefully balanced proportions point to a highly skilled maker and a period when furniture was built to be both functional and enduring.

Crafted from ash wood, the design is elevated by striking burl veneer, applied in two vertical stripes on each side of the doors and drawers. The contrast between the calm grain of the ash and the expressive, organic pattern of the burl gives the pieces a rich visual depth and a quietly luxurious character. The wood has a warm, natural tone with a lively texture that catches the light beautifully, while the interior is finished in a deep burgundy stain, adding a subtle and unexpected note of colour.

Each cabinet features a drawer and a cupboard with one removable internal shelf, offering practical storage while maintaining a clean, uncluttered silhouette. The original steel handles, finished in brass, complement the design perfectly and reinforce the understated elegance of the period. Softly rounded corners and well-judged proportions lend the tables a sophisticated, almost architectural presence.

Both bedside tables have recently undergone a complete restoration to their former glory. Our experienced furniture restorer carried out the work to the highest standard, using original techniques and materials, carefully reviving the natural beauty of the wood without compromising its character. The pieces now present in excellent condition, with only the most minimal signs of age.
