1920s Art Nouveau Side Table in Burgundy Beech

Sourced from an Art Nouveau villa, where it formed part of the original furnishings, this 1920s side table brings a remarkable sense of character to a simple circular form.

The round tabletop rests on an oval central support above a smaller decorative base. Three rounded feet lift it gently from the floor. A deep burgundy finish runs across the beech wood, giving the table a rich colour that changes subtly as the light moves over its glossy surfaces.

At 80 cm high, it makes a distinctive companion to an armchair or a beautiful place to display a lamp, flowers or a favourite object.

Why we like it

The proportions are wonderfully unexpected: a broad round top, a narrow oval centre and a smaller base resting on three rounded feet. From each angle, the table reveals a slightly different silhouette.

Condition & restoration

The table is in great vintage condition. Its surface has been restored to revive the deep red colour and finished by hand with shellac and nitro varnishes to achieve a gloss finish. Please see the photographs for a detailed view of its condition.
