1960s Long Coffee Table with Black Opaxit Glass

Believed to have been made in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s, this long coffee table brings together a glossy black opaxit glass top and a slender beech frame. Its generous rectangular surface gives the piece a strong presence, while the fine legs keep it visually light.

A narrow wooden rim rises around the glass, holding it in place and drawing a warm line around the dark surface. The four round legs taper towards the floor and can be unscrewed, making the table easier to transport or store.

At 130 cm long, it offers plenty of room for books, objects and everyday use. Its simple shape makes it easy to pair with both vintage and contemporary seating.

Why we like it

The black glass changes the whole character of the table. Against the natural beech, it looks crisp and graphic, while the raised wooden rim gives the top a carefully finished edge.

Condition & restoration

The table is in very good original condition. The glass has small surface scratches and a barely visible chip at one corner. The wooden parts show minor wear acquired over the years. Please examine the photographs for a detailed view of its condition.
