About the Set

Each armchair has a gently reclining, rounded seat framed by sweeping arms. Closely spaced rattan strands follow the contours of the seat and back, giving the chairs an open, airy appearance while emphasising their cocoon-like shape.

The accompanying table carries the same sculptural character. Its circular glass top rests on three looping rattan supports, surrounding a lower shelf with a radial pattern. The transparent surface allows the construction beneath to remain part of the design.

Together, the five pieces create an inviting seating arrangement for a living room, conservatory or sunroom. Their natural texture works particularly well alongside plants, textiles and other wooden furniture.

Design & Attribution

The set is attributed to Jaroslav Procházka for ÚLUV on the basis of its design and construction, which resemble his work in rattan. No maker’s labels survive on these pieces, so the attribution remains unconfirmed.

The historical images included in the gallery illustrate related furniture and period interiors; they are reference images rather than photographs of the set offered here.

Why We Like It

We like how the rattan becomes both structure and decoration. The chairs’ flowing outlines and the table’s looping base give the set a distinctive presence, while the open construction keeps all five pieces visually light. The warm surface patina adds depth to the material and brings the group together beautifully.
