About the Tables

These bedside tables are a refined example of European Art Deco furniture from the 1930s, combining traditional craftsmanship with the cleaner, more architectural forms that emerged during the period.

The naturally figured ash creates a warm and lively surface, while two vertical strips of burl veneer frame the drawer and door of each cabinet. Their rich, organic pattern introduces depth and contrast without overwhelming the restrained composition.

Softly rounded corners give the tables an elegant silhouette. The original steel handles, finished in brass, complement the warmth of the wood, while the deep burgundy interiors add an unexpected and particularly attractive note of colour.

Each table features a drawer above a spacious cupboard with one removable internal shelf, providing practical bedside storage while maintaining a clean exterior.

Why We Like Them

The combination of calm ash grain, expressive burl veneer and burgundy interiors gives these tables an unusually rich material presence. Their rounded corners and balanced proportions feel unmistakably Art Deco, yet the uncluttered design works beautifully in a contemporary bedroom.
